We are experienced in addressing commercial litigation issues involving a broad range of industries, businesses and business transactions, and complex commercial transactions. Vicky has litigated major disputes including non-competes, violation of shareholder rights, trade secrets, and commercial buy-sell agreements.
Vicky served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Consumer Protection & Anti-Trust Division in Seattle, under both Slade Gorton and Ken Eikenberry, and has continued to serve as a Special Assistant Attorney General since 1993 for various matters.
She has been a trusted partner representing the Washington State Insurance Commissioner in its role as Receiver of insolvent insurers. She has provided legal services and representation to multiple receiverships to help protect the policyholders, creditors and the public. She has brought claims against directors and officers of insolvent carriers for malfeasance and negligence to recover damages to help pay policyholder claims. In 2010, she obtained a $19.3 million federal court jury verdict against out-of-state operators for fraud, civil conspiracy, and consumer protection and criminal profiteering act violations relating to a multi-state workers’ compensation program. She served as legal counsel in the KPS Health Plans receivership resulting in the first rehabilitation of an insurance company in Washington.
